Guidelines for header images

Use your chance to give a clear description of your Asset for endusers and boosting it in SEO!
Here are some best practices and general information, when working with the Assets App.
File name: For better differenciation of the multiple terms, this definition refers to the name your file has before uploading it to the asset app. Only the first time a new file is created and added to the asset app, the file name automatically becomes the node name.
Node name: The name your file has in the url and when a user downloads a file. The node name automatically adopts the file name, the first time a new file is created and added to the asset app. Especially for files meant to be downloaded by users (PDFs, Portrait of management), it is recommended to change the node name by renaming the asset right after upload.
Warning: Later changes to the node name also alter the existing url of an asset and can negativly impact set up link paths. Check in with Stakeholders dependend on the existent url before changing the node name.
Asset name: Filled in by editors, the asset name is the technical name of an asset in Magnolia.
Alt text (for images): All non decorative images must have an alt name.
Title (de):
When uploading images or documents in the assets app, there are certain guidlines to follow.
Naming
Before uploading a media file to the asset app, make sure to avoid special characters and blank spaces in the file name. We strongly encourage you to either write in snake case (my_asset_name) or kebab case (my-asset-name).
- Media file name is compliant before uploading to Asset App
- Asset name is always in lowercase, max. 60 char.
- Recommended alt text for decorative images: ""
File type and format
- Maximum image width 1'600 pixel
- Maximum image size < 400 KB (to ensure better page speed)
- Recommended file types are: jpeg for images, svg for icons, pdf for documents

Create new component page, on this page the component is displayed and if needed explained. The component can also be tested easier on a single page. For the explanation you can copy the blueprint description down below, paste it at the end of the component page and adjust the content.
For the next step please choose the fitting option.
- Option: If the component matches a cluster, make the single page a subpage of that cluster. Copy the component with explanation and paste it in alphabetical order on the cluster Page. Please Note: Due to the attributes of certain components, there are some cluster pages, which just consist of a Link List. In this case please add a link to the cluster page in alphabetical order, leave the "Link Title"-field empty.
- Option: If the component doesn't match a cluster, link to the component page in the main navigation. Add the link in alphabetical order to a fitting category, leave the "Label"-field empty.
Decide on necessary changes and make sure to display new features in a suitable way and be concise if a description is needed.
For the next step please choose the fitting option.
- Option: If the component is part of a cluster, copy the component with the description and paste it in alphabetical order onto the cluster page. Afterwards delete the older version of the component on the cluster page. Please Note: Due to the attributes of certain components, there are some cluster pages, which just consist of a Link List. In this case changes are only necessary on the subpage.
- Option: If the component isn't part of a cluster changes are only necessary on the subpage.
Before deleting a component please ensure on the Components Overview App, that there are no longer in active use on the different tenants.
For the next step please choose the fitting option.
- Option: If the component is part of a cluster, delete the subpage and the component on the cluster page. Please Note: Due to the attributes of certain components, there are some cluster pages, which just consist of a Link List. In this case please delete the link on the cluster page.
- Option: If the component isn't part of a cluster, delete the single page and link in the main navigation.
